This privacy policy explains how I, Meg Darvell, trading as The Cottage Almanac, collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use this website or subscribe to The Cottage Almanac Letter or The Cottage Almanac Folio.

Who I am

I am Meg Darvell, trading as The Cottage Almanac, based in Baldock, Hertfordshire. You can contact me at keeper@cottagealmanac.co.uk.

What data I collect and why

When you subscribe to The Cottage Almanac Letter or The Folio, I collect your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your name. This information is used solely to send you the publications you have subscribed to and occasional related announcements. I do not use it for any other purpose.

When you visit this website, standard server logs may record your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This information is used only for site security and performance monitoring and is not linked to your identity.

How I store your data

Subscriber data is stored and processed by Ghost, my publishing platform. Ghost is GDPR compliant and stores data on secure servers within the European Economic Area. You can read Ghost's privacy policy at ghost.org/privacy.

Payments for Folio subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles all payment data directly and I do not store your payment details. You can read Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/gb/privacy.

Future tools

I intend to introduce the following tools in due course, each of which may process subscriber data: Pinterest (social media scheduling), SparkLoop or Viral Loops (referral programme), and Google Analytics (website analytics). This policy will be updated when any of these are introduced.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, to correct inaccurate data, to request deletion of your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact me at keeper@cottagealmanac.co.uk.

You can unsubscribe from The Cottage Almanac Letter or The Folio at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email I send you.
